Create People Who Can Meet the Needs of an Information Society Through Informatics
The faculty of Informatics has a three-division system: “Information Systems”, “Mathematical Informatics”, and “Social Informatics”. The aim of this faculty is to strengthen research and education such as data science and artificial intelligence, and then to develop human resources who have the expertise to meet the needs of the next generation and have high practical knowledge and creativity to be leaders in a complex information society.

Information Systems

Educational Objectives and Ideal Candidates

The division of “Information Systems” will develop human resources who can design, build and operate various information systems for supporting corporate activities, analyzing social or environmental data and solving problems related to them, improving the convenience of people, providing games and entertainment, etc. Students will learn basic technologies related to system development, information networks, information security and intelligent information processing, as well as advanced technologies such as game entertainment, virtual systems, and big data analysis to solve social and environmental problems.

Mathematical Informatics

Educational Objectives and Ideal Candidates

The division of “Mathematical Informatics” will develop data scientists who can make decisions using advanced information technology to meet the needs of society. Students will learn methods for understanding natural or social systems and solving problems related to them through data analysis and mathematical modeling based on mathematical informatics. At the same time, students will learn advanced mathematics, which is the basis of mathematical informatics, through the process of acquiring the skills for systematizing information.
