The faculty of Informatics has a three-division system: “Information Systems”, “Data Science”, and “Media Informatics”. The aim of this faculty is to strengthen research and education such as data science and artificial intelligence, and then to develop human resources who have the expertise to meet the needs of the next generation and have high practical knowledge and creativity to be leaders in a complex information society.

The discipline of Information Systems aims to educate students who will design, build, and utilize information systems to support business activities, analyze and solve real-life problems, provide news ways to improve everyday life, and create entertainment such as video games.

Students will study basic technologies related to networks and system development, as well as advanced technologies such as AI, IoT, games, and security, and learn about the technologies needed to be successful in the cutting-edge IT fields.

The discipline of Data Science aims to trains students to become data scientists who can contribute to the demands of society, making use of advanced information technology to solve problems related to life science, environmental science, and behavioral science.

Students learn basic skills of data analysis based on mathematical science, and learn advanced methods to apply the knowledge to solve problems in a wide range of research fields including life science, environmental science, and behavioral science.

In the discipline of Media Informatics, students will learn knowledge and methods for expressing and communicating information, through the studies related to media science.

Students will develop skills to create and utilize various forms of information and media, and learn to apply the knowledge to provide new solutions for business, consumers, art and entertainment.
